# What is cognitive empathy and why does Empatyzer focus on it?

Empatyzer focuses on cognitive empathy, the ability to understand another person’s perspective, needs and way of thinking, because it can be developed and is directly useful in conversations at work.

People often assume that others think and react the way they do. Empatyzer shows the real differences between you and a specific person or group and explains what they may mean in that relationship, which makes it easier to read the other person accurately. It supports empathy and relationships; it does not replace them.
