# How do I highlight one department on Empatyzer’s Similarity Map?

Hover over or click a department in the legend below Empatyzer’s Similarity Map to highlight its people and see whether the department is compact, dispersed or split.

The legend also shows each department’s name, color and number of people and, when the department is large enough, its internal similarity percentage. To compare departments, select a group that includes several of them, such as the whole company.

## Steps

1. Click the three-person icon and select a group that includes several departments, such as the whole company.
2. Open the “Similarity Map” tab.
3. Find the department legend below the map.
4. Hover over or click a department: its dots are highlighted, so you can see whether it is compact, dispersed or split.
